Friday Night Race Rules 2. All chassis must be steel. 3. Any mass produced Stamped Steel chassis can be used. Such as: Champion Astro (410), Champion Turbo-Flex (420), JK Products Cheetah, JK Products Scorpion II, Parma Flexi-Kar (588), Parma Flexi-2 (595), Parma Flexi-3 (601), RJR Storm (792), Mossetti Titan (300), or SlotWorks Spyder. 4. Hot wing may be added to any chassis. 5. Motor bracket may be enlarged to allow better gear mesh. 6. Rear uprights may be braced through the use of a U shaped brace, brass tube or Slick 7 style chassis brace. 7. A Steel guide tongue reinforcement may be used, but the original guide tongue may not be modified or moved and must still be used. 8. Chassis maybe reinforced using 1/16 inch or smaller brass or steel, limited to a combined length of 6 inches 9. Front axle may be soldered to chassis and/or Hot Wing. 10. Plating, paint and/or stain may be added to or removed from the chassis. 11. Spacers and/or tape may be used to limit the movement of chassis sections. 12. Lead weight may be glued onto the chassis. 13. Each car must have two solid steel axles, one front and one rear. Each axle is to be solid steel. Axles may not extend beyond wheel edge. 14. Minimum rear axle diameter is 1/8 inch measured thought out its length. 15. Minimum front tire diameter is 1/2 inch. 16. Minimum front axle diameter is 0.047 inch and axle may be bent. 17. Drilled or light weight front and rear wheels are allowed. 18. All front wheels must roll when a thumb is run on them from the bottom of the chassis. 19. Body mounting pin tubes may be added in the original body mounting clip holes on the chassis, or in the body mounting holes on Hot Wings. Note pin tubes must fit with in the 3 ¼ inch width. 20. All chassis and gears must have a minimum of 1/16 inch track clearance at the start of the race and after all tire changes. 21. Maximum width of the car is 3 1/4 inches at all points, including wheels/tires. If the tech tool fits over the wheel rims, regardless of how tight, the width is legal. If a racer changes tires, the car must be re-teched before returned to the track. 22. Leadwire retainers are allowed. 23. Any leadwires may be used. 24. Any braid, guide flag, guide nut, or guide clips may be used. 25. Any oilite bearings are allowed and they may be modified by the racer. 26. The under side of the body may be reinforced with tape, and/or plastic. 27. Tape may be added to the outside of bodies to hold body mounting clips in place. 28. "Ninja Stars" or other body mounting hole reinforcements are allowed. 29. Reinforcements may be attached or strengthened with staples. 30. Any gear ratio allowed. 31. Must be 48 pitch plastic spur gears. 32. Racers may solder pinion on motor. 33. Any diameter and any color rear tire may be used. 34. Motors may be soldered to chassis. 35. Motor Specifications: 35.1. Any 16D setup made for Parma, Kelly or SlotWorks. 35.2. Any unbalanced 16D arms such as those sold by Parma, SlotWorks, Mura, ProSlot, etc.. 35.3. Any motor brushes. 35.4. Any motor springs may be used. 35.5. Magnets may be glued into position, but no shim material may be used and magnet clips must be retained. 35.6. Oilites may be soldered or glued to the can. 35.7. New holes may be drilled in the can to attach the end bell, and screws holding the endbell on may added or replaced. 35.8. Armature spacers may be added. 35.9. Armature may be trued. 35.10. Magnets may be zapped, but not polished or "honed". 35.11. The can and/or magnets can be modified to provide axle clearance, and the can oilite may be notched so as to provide gear and/or chassis clearance. 35.12. It is the responsibility of the racers to make sure that their armature meets the minimum dimensions of a stack length of 0.600 inch and 0.513 inch minimum diameter and 70 turns of 30 gauge wire. Inside Can dimensions are height 0.600 inch, width 0.875 inch and length 0.950 inch. Minimum dimensions for the magnets are height 0.580 inch, length 0.650 inch and thickness 0.150 inch. 35.13. No multiple piece magnets are allowed. All magnets must be ceramic and massed produced for slot car racing. The original body and chassis that was teched in must be used at all times. All other components may be replaced, but must still meet the requirements of the class. Changing of the body or chassis will result in forfeiting of any winnings. The intent of this rule to allow drivers to still run in the race for the practice. The race director may black flag any car that is dragging on the track or impeding the other cars. The racing surface can
not be glued by the racer. No
liquids should be put on the track by the racers, such as glue or braid
juice. Open Body Nights: Any commercially produced body is allowed. No added air control devices. 3 numbers and a driver are requested. Front wheel wells must be left clear or the body cut to the horizontal center line of the front axle. Stock Car Body Nights: 4 inch NASCAR style Stock Car bodies
only. Body must have full Stock Car
interior (Parma #809 or similar) installed in the correct position. No
paper or clear interiors are allowed.
3 numbers are required. Front wheel wells must be left clear or the
body cut to the horizontal center line of the front axle. NOTICE: The
Race Director reserves the right to reject any car or entry from
competing. All
decisions of the race director are final.
